The photographs in this collection were taken by Theophilus Anthony (Bhia) Metcalfe and his wife, Marie Metcalfe nee Ross. The pictures were taken between early 1900's and early 1950's. They present the Metcalfes' family and friends, as well as Bhia's colleagues from Calcutta Light Horse. Bhia was a high ranking officer in the British Indian army. Him and Marie enjoyed a very active social life among British and Indian Establishment. After leaving the army, Bhia worked as a tea trader, before retiring and settling in Australia.
