    We have been kindly allowed to show these two precious albums by the Suffolk Regiment Museum. This regiment was originally the 12th Regiment of Foot and served in Afghanistan and India from 1876 to 1892. The 12th Regiment of Foot (later Suffolk Regiment) served in Afghanistan and India from 1876 to 1892. The first album of photographs was presented to the 1st Battalion Officers Mess by Captain F W Scudamore in January 1885 and is entitled “Afghanistan: Attock to Kabul (1878-1880)". The second entitled “Afghanistan, England (cf 1880 -1905)” arrived at a later date. They contain photographs of landscapes, towns and cities, architecture, Kabul river etc. Many are of groups of soldiers and local inhabitants. If you wish to order a copy of any image email: [email protected] quoting the Image BRO Reference Number and Title. The funds of such purchases will be used to support the museum.
